Draw my Soul - Neuro [Electronicore, Review]

Bild
An international project from Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine has recently released a full length album "Neuro". Musicians are obviously involved and influenced by current situation in Ukraine, while the music as well as lyrics describe diverse aspects of inner struggles and society. It must be underlined that lyrics overall feature multiple layers and is very well written. Draw my Soul involves a cooperation of a number of producers that has already gained some level recognition in the European underground scene. Musically the album can be placed on the edge of electronicore, industrial, rapcore and even metalcore. Indeed, electronic samples in the background create a distinctive mood, while guitars are very groovy. Vocalist of DMS make a good impression demonstrating good abilities in both reading the lyrics and singing. The production of drums may be improved in the future, providing more "live" and "bright" sound, as well as the combination of ideas that are so

Umbilicus Necis - Confine Astratto [Black Metal, Review]

Bild
Already the first track on the debut album of Italians "Umbilicus Necis" welcomes a listener with a melancholic, slow acoustic guitar. And this is the right feeling, a perfect introduction into "Confine Astratto". This record offers a wonderful mix of melancholic even romantic doom metal with raw and depressive black metal, changing emotions constantly back and forth. The album includes overall very atmospheric and diverse tracks, produced in a characteristic artistic style, as well as Italian lyrics and a nice cover artwork. Do not miss this record. 9/10 By Psychoman https://kryrartrecordslabel. bandcamp.com/album/confine- astratto

Sound Animal - NewSoundLand [Dark Ambient, Review]

Bild
Close your eyes, relax, let the music take you to the dark and emotional journey, which you will never forget. This is possible, thanks to Sound Animal from Berkeley, California. A full-length album "NewSoundLand" welcomes you with a beautiful artwork, and catches the attention with some unique  aura. An impressive arsenal of instruments used on this pretty long record (guitar, bow, silver flute, double shepherd's flute, pungi, jaw harp, khaen, electric tennis racket, overtones, melodica, harmonica, bodhrán and found objects) generate a very diverse sound landscape. The music opens you a wide range of possibilities to use your imagination and make your own experience. This is an unexpected surprise foe anyone who likes avant-garde ambient, which is not similar to most soundtrack music thought. For some listeners this record may be hard to get into and listen it through, but is will definitely blow your mind. 9/10  By Psychoman https://kryrartambient. bandc

Abstract Deviation - Terpsihora [Progressive Metal, Review]

Bild
We live in a time when people read headlines but don't read the texts underneath;  when listeners turn off a song after five seconds, if it hasn't hooked them with anything;  when the script of the film is tried to chew the viewer as much as possible, so that people do  not have to think again. In the modern world, the TERPSIHORA album will be a very  uncomfortable one . Because this album is one of those releases that will be really  revealed only after 5-10 plays. An album which you need to dig, read social media posts  and parse texts. An album, which in order to understand you need to have some kind of  musical and not only erudition. Abstract Deviation knew what they were doing - a separate  respect for their courage.     Pros: - Features. Thousands of them. In might be called “ overproduced", but I never perceived this term in  a negative way. It feels like they worked on the material even more than it was necessary. - Sound. It 's awesome. As a

Train to Elsewhere - Samhain a Path to Autumn [Doom Metal, Review]

Bild
A Moscow based band Train to Elsewhere has already made a good impression with their first demo "The Path". Traditional doom metal with a good portion of stoner on the record could convince that this band will have something even better coming in the future. Indeed, during 2021 Train to Elsewhere has brought us some good live recordings as well as a full-length album "Samhain", which was released recently with bonuses via Kryrart Records. The album demonstrates an impressive evolution of the band: well balanced guitars with some doom metal but also progressive touch and almost meditative long compositions create a unique melancholic atmosphere. Very good musicianship combined with less polished old-school-like production resulted in a high quality debut record with a lot of potential for the future. Talking about things that can be optimized on the future I can suggest to work on vocals, even though at current stage they are pretty well. A small additional plus fo

21st Century Archetype - True Progressor 2.0 [Industrial/Alternative Metal, Review]

Bild
The band 21st century Archetype might be described as an industrial/alternative band combining however a large variety of different styles like hip-hop / glitch-hop / neurohop and rapcore. This formation is active already since a pretty long time in the underground scene, and the latest release "True Progressor 2.0" is actually a remake of the album from 2016 that was largely positively accepted and features a wery well done music video for the song "Planet Patriot". So a listener might ask why the band should remake a such well accepted album? The answer would be: a change of stylistic direction. This record is heavier and more intensiv, it includes more guitar work and aggression, it is now less hip-hop influenced and much more alternative and even metal like. This change allows also to deliver the main message of this work about the nearest future where humans are just biorobots living senceless life in a digital world. True Progressor 2.0 is a great conceptual

Legacy of Satan - Apocalypse [Black/Death Metal, Review]

Bild
A new coming formation "Legacy of Satan" has introduced earlier this year a one track demo, which has already declared the style of the band that can be interesting for the fans of such bands as Belphegor, Dark Funeral and Marduk. Recent mini-album completed the evolution of the band and did a clear statement: this black metal band is something that you should hear once at least and it is worth to gain attention in the underground extreme metal scene. The first mini-album "Apocalypse" features extreme, fast and infernal black/death metal with very variable vocals and some symphonic background samples. Moreover, deathcore-like breakdowns add this record some originality and can surprise you from time to time during listening. Vocals as well as guitars on this work can be definitely highlighted: catchy riffs and impressive vocal skills of the frontman are present here. Amazing artwork supplements the overall impression of a very well crafted record made by skilled m

Sound Animal - NewSoundLand [Release, Avant-Garde]

Kryrart Ambient has released an album of the avantgarde dark ambient band Sound Animal from the USA.   Slow down for a magic carpet ride as each Lo-Fi tune transports you to an exotic state of mind in a dramatic location mimicked by the instruments. You're not a tourist here. You inhabit each place like a dream, a lifetime. Released by Kryrart Ambient label in Germany. The album is subtly different from much ambient in that it's not electronic, no samples or synths. Saint Vitus - Mournful Cries [Doom Metal, Review]

Bild
Today we will take a look at the classic fourth album by American pioneering doom-metal legend Saint Vitus. The album, released in 1988, is titled “Mournful Cries”. The lineup consisted of Dave Chandler on guitars and also responsible for song-writing, Mark Adams on the bass, Armando Acosta on drums and Scott "Wino" Weinrich on vocals. The album perfectly blends dark existential themes of life with a more of a dark-fantasy lyrical approach. Musically it is solid and heavy-hitting blues-tinged traditional doom metal. The sound production of the album is typical for the doom scene of the late 80s. It opens with a faster song «The Creeps», a composition which serves the same purpose as Black Sabbath’s «Paranoid» on their second album, it is a fast-paced hit. It opens the album with a more proto-punk hard rock side, which Saint Vitus is known for. What follows next is one of the best songs in the band's catalog and on this album. The dark epic song Dragon Tim

Atra Haeresis - Pretium? [Death/Black Metal Review]

The band has an international lineup which consists of Alexander Dorokhin who is responsible for the songwriting, Sergei Ambrazevich on vocals, Alexander Antygin on guitars, Alexey "Fenrir" Veselov on the bass. The debut album of the band titled “Pretium” was released via Satanath Records (Russia), Kryrart Records (Germany), Death Portal Studio (USA) and Void Wanderer Productions (Netherlands) on the 26th of August 2021. The sound production performs high quality but definitely it is not overproduced. This style of sounding death black metal can be considered old-school. The songs are catchy, heavy and very dynamic. Behemoth, Belphegor, Dissection, Septic Flesh, Rotting Christ as well as Dark Funeral and Vital Remains come to mind w

Doom Metal and the Philosophy of Cosmic Pessimism [Article]

Bild
Doom noun death, destruction, or some other terrible fate. verb condemn to certain death or destruction. Into The Void When we look at all different genres and styles of doom metal which originated in the late 60-s and early seventies after the decline of the «summer of love» and it's optimistic ideas, we can point out one major theme which unites the doom metal genre - it is a theme of pessimism. This idea has many forms and is presented differently by the bands within the doom-metal style. But starting with Black Sabbath the feeling of dread and despair always has been a major part of this music. In order to understand pessimistic thought we can take for the guidelines of our journey a system and the worldview as described by American philosopher Eugene Thacker in his book In the Dust of This Planet (Horror of Philosophy Vol. 1).
